Från den 1 oktober 2009 är det krav på körkort för att få börja köra moped klass I, så kallad EU-moped. Den nya körkorsbehörigheten heter: AM.
För att få körkortet måste man gå en utbildning hos en godkänd utbildare och göra ett kunskapsprov hos Vägverket.
Man måste ha ett giltigt körkortstillstånd och ha genomfört utbildningen för att få göra provet. Dessutom ska man ha fyllt 15 år.
Den som redan har ett körkort med annan behörighet får fortsätta att köra moped klass I. Om du har skaffat ett förarbevis för moped klass I före den 1 oktober 2009 kan du byta ut det mot ett körkort med behörighet AM.
